Advances in overcoming agglomeration and adhesion challenges in natural fiber reinforced BioPolymers
The BioMat2Com project is a research initiative led by the LEPAMAP-PRODIS group at the University of Girona. The project focuses on the development and characterization of advanced biocomposites, bridging the gap between raw bio-based resources and industrial applications.
By leveraging lignocellulosic fibers and biodegradable polymer matrices, BioMat2Com aims to provide sustainable alternatives to conventional plastic materials, contributing to the reduction of environmental impact and promoting the principles of the circular economy.

The BioMat2Com Solution
We are developing fully bio-based composite materials by integrating biopolymers (PLA, PBS) with modified natural fibers. Our unique approach utilizes computational modeling to design tailored coupling agents that ensure superior adhesion and mechanical performance, solving the traditional agglomeration issues.
